So I get Running Times and I'm usually comforted by it's adherence to the competitive runner's point of view as opposed to a recreational runner's point of view which is used much more in Runner's World.
This movement is being led by recreational runners.
You can't be a serious runner and do all of your running barefoot because you will get injured. If you are a recreational runner however then you can do all your running barefoot because it probably isn't intense enough to hurt you.
I'm just a dumb kid but there must be something to this whole wearing shoes thing when all good runners wear shoes.
Stuff like this and Born To Run try to reference people who encourage supplementary barefoot running as proponents of barefoot running. Supplementary barefoot running is completely different than what these people are talking about. I run a couple miles barefoot every week for strengthening but I know that if I did it all the time I would get injured.
This is dumb. Recreational runners need to stop trying to contribute.
