I am training for the 5k cross country distance and am wanting to peak around mid to late november with a sub 15 for the 5k. I have been putting in some good summer miles in the past few months and I just recently started doing hills and repitition work.
My question is, "Is it too early to start tempo workouts, for example the Jack Daniels' 20 minute variety, or cruise intervals?" I recently did a 20 minute one this past week and it felt great as well as doing a hill session earlier in the week. Was it and is it too early to do tempo work? I would like to peak right have a strong end of the season feeling strong and in some great shape.
I am going for sub 15 for the 5k so any workout ideas would be greatly appreciated as well.
