Here's something weird: I went to Cycling News, which I think is one of the biggest sources on pro cycling, and there is NOT ONE WORD about Lance on the front page. Why are cycling fans and media covering for Lance?[/quote]

First of all, the 2nd leader on Cycling News is about LeMond responding to Landis' allegations, so they are commenting on the story.
Second, this story is sooo played out in the cycling community. Everyone's tired of it and just wants to focus on the racing.
Third, most people in the cycling community believe that Lance doped, but don't really care because it's widely known that everyone dopes.
OK, so a story was added (at 08:24 this morning) -- there were zero when I wrote that last night, and one mention out of hundreds of stories is pretty week.
"Played out"? "Everyone wants to focus on the racing"? Do you understand that you are making my point for me? I find it disgusting that riders, fans and the expert cycling media are content to see the tour raced and written up as 'business as usual' when there is a drug cheat of this stature in the race. If it's "played out" to you, that's pathetic on your part as fans and a sad comment on your attention span as a group.
If, for example, Bekele or Geb were in the same position, I think that running fans might have a bit more to say about it. Or Conador been flying a "drug cheats out" sign (a la Radcliffe) that I didn't see?
