Saw that Wheating is still wearing his USA gear, which means he hasnt signed with a agent. I wonder who he is going to coach him for the future and what company he is going to sign with?

I'm going to say Puma. Watch the Flotrack post-race interview. He talks about a potential 800 against Bolt. That sounds exactly like the sort of thing Matt Taylor would dream up for promo purposes, and it wouldn't even be something he and Lananna would be discussing unless he's going to be with Puma.
Whoever advised him to run a few races in Europe before signing is absolutely brilliant.
Wheating's career has been marked by excellent advice and good fortune in his connections, from a teacher that showed him "Without Limits", to hooking up with Nike's Jeff Johnson, who hooked him up to Vin, now this. Contrast with some of our other less fortunate talents who seem to stumble around between coaches and advisors, trying to stave off injuries and burnout.
my bet is on Nike. Nike gets everyone they want. I remember few years ago Webb's contract was for 250K a year.
Why would you wonder at all? He's going to be wearing Nike and he'll train with that Brit Nike coach in Portland.
Am almost sure he will sign with Nike, but who will coach him. Him loves Vin, and I heard him once talk about stayin with Vin for as long as it works out for both of them.
No, he's going where the Nike training partners are going to be. Stop being silly.

He does have an agent (Wetmore), but not a sponsor.

He is the fastest 1500 guy in the US right now, not some nike training partners. Who is being silly?
If he can stick with Vin and maybe hook up in some workouts with Symmonds and Co. and wait for AJ and Centro to graduate that might be a good thing.
I think he'll stay in Eugene.
Webb and Portland is a good option, but a bit of a gamble when you are already having that much success now.
Has Webb ever had 3 races with this much consistency in terms of competing and times? 2007 maybe? Wheating is just finishing college, running into the summer after NCAA's.

if capriotti does not sign him to nike he'll need to find a new job. i am not kidding.
phil knight will be pi**ed, so will jeff johnson. expect andy to stay with what has worked for him and remain in eugene.
how about qatar or bahrain the y have the oil meaning money to get whoever they want.

Capriotti needs to sign him AND German Fernandez. Jeesus, German is a Webb/Wheating like prodigy and he has been nowhere in the past 12 months. Come on 8:40/4:00 doubles in high school solo. 3:55 indoors solo as a frosh. NCAA champ leading wire to wire as a frosh with 3:35-3:37 guys in the race. 13:25, 5th at USA champs as a frosh.
C'mon, save this kid. Get him with Webb. Let him finish school in portland ala Jager with his Nike salary.
GET IT DONE. We need Wheating, Webb and German attacking 3:30 with Lomong, Leo and Lagat as also rans.
You are being silly, clown. Nike will immerse him in a professional environment, not some hybrid foolishness. Nike will sign him and then assign him. Symmonds is not the only good middle distance man Nike has in Portland. Wheating will be a Nike slave, just like Rupp, Ritz, Webb and the rest of them. Eugene will not be an option.

Wasn't Vin congratulating and celebrating with Wheating right after the race? I would be very surprised if Vin didn't coach Wheating. They have a good relationship, and who wouldn't want to coach a 3:30 guy? :-)
Mark Rowland of OTC Elite in Eugene (not Portland!) could certainly do the job. In any case, I would think if Andrew stays in Eugene, he would run under the the OTC singlet.
What planet are you from? Symmonds trains in Eugene, EUGENE! Mark Rowland is his coach, in EUGENE. Vin is the President or whatever of the OTC in Eugene, he is pretty heavily involved there.
I'll say it again, Wheating is THE FASTEST CURRENT US 1500 man and top 800/1500 man in the u.s., hell as one poster pointed out one of the top 800/1500 men in the world now. Why in anyones name would he change what he is doing?
Are you done being silly dingleberry?

OTC Elite is in Eugene with Symmonds and Coach Rowland.

Wheating has scored better in the diamond league this summer than any distance runner, man or woman from Portland. Add Symmonds and Eugene is looking pretty good to Nike right now in comparison to Portland.
Not bashing all the goodness in Portland, just clearing up your ignorance.
I'm going to say that every University of Oregon runner will run for Nike. Unless their names are Diego Mercado and Danny Mercado. I think they'll sign with Adidas/McMillan because they are very good friends with Jordan Horn and Nick Arciniaga who are both under McMillan. During the summer/winter when they're down here, they run with Jordan and/or Nick to train.
Ecko Unlmtd., Vans, DC, K-Swiss, and Etnies should still be in the picture. They have the big bucks to dole out to niche sport athletes.
Big deal, what of it? There is still a far higher concentration of really good middle distance runners under Nike contract in Portland than anywhere else in the US, including Eugene. You don't have a clue what Nike's view is, you have zero insight into the world of professional running.
