The article says Logan was called in by Hightower and others and told to improve by August or be fired.
This is the first I've heard of any of this. So feel free to post here anything you know about this or email anything you want kept confidential.
My thoughts.
1) This seems VERY strange to me and a weird way to settle a dispute. If you want someone to improve do you leak to the pres that he has a month to do it or be fired?
2) I have no idea what the guy is doing wrong, but it seems like he's not going to change a lot by August.
3) The article says Nike is upset with Logan. I never thought I'd hear that. My impression was if anyone was going to complain they would say Logan and USATF are too close. I had a bunch of athletes and agents complaining to me Logan was in Nike's back pocket and USATF was too close ot Nike.
4) Who gets to fire Logan? USATF is a non-profit and has a board and has to report to its members. Can Hightower and friends fire Logan on their own?
As for Logan, I've never met the man. Initially I was skeptical he was more about himself than USATF. When he put the Olympic Marathon Trials in Houston I really supported that decision because he put USATFs financial situation before promises of glamour and glitz.
So I'd love people to post away on this.
The fact also that no one has posted anything about this is also strange to me.
