Nope, ran faster indoors.

and the kiwi was behind 2 ethiopians, 2 kenyans, a bahrani, and a girl from that distance running powerhouse azbergian, i hope i spelled that right.
Let's get serious folks. Jordan Hasay just ran an Outdoor PR at 3K. It obviously wasn't her greatest race ever (she finished 9th), but she was the top American and she continues to improve, so let's be happy for her. I just don't get all these negative posters here. The glass is at least half full and LR posters continue to show that they are Sick people.
...and it looks like the Brit girl (Emelia Gorecka) who ran 9:18 is 3 years younger then Hasay and Sisson. Seems like she has quite the potential too...
Hasay went with the leaders, which for 800 was everyone. 33 for the first 200, 68 for the 400 split. then a 78, then a 75, the the kenya runner hammered a 66, which split the field to the final six and hasay and wenth, though those two were soon gapped. then a 73 a 68 and the final 200 in 30.5. Hasay faded the last 700 or so and that is when the next group caught her. It was a good race and a very good effort.
Seriously I love Jordan Hasay and wish her well in all her endeavors but get ahold of yourselves- she just finsihed 9th in the World JUNIOR 3000m. Some of those runners where younger than Jordan Hasay as well- seem those girls would get a thread of their own before Jordan Hasay!

But she may plateau for a few years as did Emily Pidgeon, Or she could be another Twell, time will tell.
And you could run faster? As a girl? As a freshman(with her credits, she might technically already be a sophomore) in college?
The Azerbaijan girl is actually Ethiopian.
Is she faster then Pidgeon and Twell at the same age?

Let's get serious back at you. It may be a PR, but as a JR in HS she went 9:52.13 for 3200, which is ever so slightly a faster pace over a longer distance. I doubt she's thinking, oh i PR'd at a slower pace over a shorter distance than i ran 2 years ago.
That said being negative is stupid, she's a great runner who had a very solid freshman campaigne. But if ever there was a PR to NOT be happy with, this would be it. Now the pace or conditions may have played a factor, but just going off time this is not a real PR in my book.
The problem isn't Jordan, the problem is that many Letsrunners have unrealistic expectations.
Great race for her, but not a PR, she ran 9:12:25 on 2/13/10 @ U of W.
I have to admit I thought that Jordan would really step it up this year. Being able to train with Alex and Nicole instead of by herself appeared to be a springboard to big improvements, but it didn't turn out that way. It was a successful year, but after years in the public eye more was expected by most (and probably unfairly).
She is a great runner, just not the one that I thought she was back in 2008.
Jordan ran awesome-can you run that fast and run with Kenya, Ethopia & still run a gutsy race - give her credit - good luck for the 1500m Jordan.
I know it is such an easy transition from HS to College life! ANd it is also easy to run a FULL NCAA track and Field season and still keep on training and racing. I kinda think that she tried to peak for NCAA's this year and not Jr WOlrds....hmmmm not sure.... But to be able to keep at this level for as long as she has is a very strong staement on her part and her coaching..Most of you guys are just the normal IDIOTS on letsrun that most have come to see on the message boards.
She DID step it up, 3rd in the NCAAs as a FRESHMAN behind two 5th year seniors (though huge props for Gabriel Anderson's big comeback from cancer)! She has just not gotten into time trial sort of races. This certainly wasn't a time trial race, the splits were crazy and random as the Kenyans like Mercy Cherono put in surges here and there. That's how championship races are run. If you put her in a time trial, I'm sure she would run a lot faster, but come on.. championship races are different.
I expected her to run a faster time, but it could be due to fatigue from all the racing she's been doing. She's been racing all year long, from XC season to indoor track and now outdoor track. Hopefully after junior worlds she could get some rest and get ready for a great XC season.
