nice. could easily retire.
cool position. rock on JD.
WAY TO GO, JACK!
Jack welcome to NC !!
Good to see that a 77-year-old can still get a good position and continue to contribute his endless knowledge and coaching ability to The Sport. Good for Brevard, good for the runners lucky enough to run under Jack.
What's a Brevard?
I know.. they never heard of me either...
Best wishes to JD, raise a glass of JD to him tonight.
Anybody know if he will still be teaching the online graduate courses for A.T. Still Univ.?
Interesting, after being turned down by Fredonia and Oneonta......
yeah, as if he was turned down both those schools
He absolutely was...he was 1 of 6 finalists at Fredonia....I am positive of that...I heard from a very credible source (another finalist), but I am not positive of this info, that he was 1 of 4 finalists at Oneonta....
Jack Daniels being turned down for a job. That has to be an age discrimination lawsuit if he wanted to pursue it.
Not really. He could have been offered the job and turned it down. They could have decided he was a bad fit and so on.

JD has carved out a great following and deservedly so for his applied physiology to the base phase. However, who as he actually coached specifically that has been a world beater? I am just curious?
Ummmm.... ever heard of Magdalena Lewy Boulet?
Make a list of every DIII coach who has coached a world beater. How many World Beater (distance runners only) did McDonnel, VIn, or Bowerman coach? Off the top of my head I am coming up with 0 olympic or WC medals but I am sure I missed one or two. Coaching a "world" beater is more about luck than skill. Having teams that consistently perform well means your a good coash or a great recruiter.

Too bad he never applied to Fredonia
Oneonta hired a throws coach instead, that will get them a lot of points I am sure....
Good for Jack, sucks for Flagstaff. You will be missed be the running community up here, good luck!
This team is awful from what I saw.
ever heard of Ken (2;09) % Lisa Martin (2;23, Olympic silver mth); Jerry Lawson (2;09)...
