Year 1 as a Nike pro and he isn't running the biggest US meet in his own backyard? What gives?

Scared to race Solinsky?
Well at least we know the track is Rupp Certified.
Hayward sucks for pollen and rain. Rupp likes Stanford.
Eugene is definetly worse than Portland for allergies.

Wouldn't make the A list for the mile with his 3:39/3:56i. People on another thread are saying Wheating doesn't deserve in with 1:45.0 and 3:37.
I thought there were two miles (The bowerman mile and the "international" mile). I thought he was running the "international" mile, as he wasn't fast enough for the bowerman?
rupp is not scared to race solinsky, solinsky wouldnt even be his biggest opponent, and no one would expect rupp (or solinsky) to win the diamond league 5k at pre anyways.
You are correct. Rupp is running what might be called the "B" mile...it will be plenty fast, just not at the world level of the "A" mile. This post is one more example of the f#$@ing idiots who post on Lets Run. They don't know what they are talking about, and they are critical of all, useful to none.
He just ran the biggest US meet last week.

You are right about Rupp.
And you are right about the idiots.
He just won a national championship, so he's probably still celebrating.
He is holding hands with Steve Magness in Houston - they may run it as tandem entry
Where did you go to see who is in each event? The start lists on runnerspace and diamond league only show the events in order, I can't see who is running.
The Pre Classic website on Runnerspace.com is pretty much the worst website I have ever seen for a major meet like this. It only has the start lists for the Diamond League events, and only posted those early this week. There are many non-Diamond races, but no start lists are posted. Runnerspace is a great resource for amateur video, but I don't understand how they are getting these major contracts this year (USATF meet, Pre Classic).
That's a really, really incomplete list. Is there a better one out there?
Hard to believe.... wrote:

HAHA thank you for saying amateur! cause they really are. Its all about flotrack!
flotrack is way better.
I generally agree. But I didn't know about the two separate mile races. And it makes sense now. People kept talking about Centro, Wheating and Rupp running at Pre and I was thinking how the hell do these guys even come close to qualifying
