Excellent shoe if you want to run fast offroad or like light offroad shoes.
Get them, you won't regret it. They are great trail shoes.
Thanks, i just ordered some from RunningWarehouse. bit on the expensive side compared to the other brands i buy (brooks, asics) but i might do some running in Colorado rockies so figured it might be good to have something like them
Love 'em!! Got mine from http://www.RevelSports.com
Might as well just go with xc flats for a whole lot less $$.

Exactly. I have both (XC flats and a few free pairs of INOV8s), and the XC flats have excellent grip, plus they're thinner, lighter, and cheaper. You would have to be going through some hellacious mud climbs and descents to need the grip of some of the more advanced INOV8 models. But for nimble maneuvering around rocks in the Rockies over relatively dry or slightly muddy terrain, go with XC flats. Right now I'm digging the new Brooks Mach 12's ($47.95 at Runningwarehouse).
How do they compare in sizing to standard trainers?
The new Inov8 line for Spring 2011 looks even better. A lighter trail shoe called the Bare-Grip is going to be out and they are coming out with a couple road shoes that keeps their light and low profile. They are looking good.
Mine were true to size. I thought they might be a little tight in the toes but they are actually very comfortable.
I have run in flats, spikes and a variety of trail shoes. These are by far my favorites. True, you can get similar performance from some flats on well groomed flat trails but for trails with leaves, wet rocks, muddy down hills, etc, you can beat these shoes. I have several hundred miles on mine now and they are still in great shape and there is no wear on the sole/treads.

You can beat them with which shoes?
Can beat the Inov8 X-Talon 212's on rough trails.
Can't beat the Inov8's. Sorry,
