Glad to see he's a brother now.
That was difficult to watch.
Is it just me, or did that conversation seem fake/scripted? I mean, nothing he said made it seem fake. It was just the way he was speaking, like there wasn't actually anyone else on the other end of the conversation.
The skit is unfortunate and ridiculous. He is drinking the Salazar/Nike kool-aid.
also the piece of paper by the phone
Does that kool-aid flow from Alberto's skin helmut?

Over react much?
I definitely agree with i kinda like running. It runs like a skit from 8th grade drama class.
If u listen to it, he hints that the video is a promo!! lol
Goddamn the brainiacs on this board can really suck ass.
Webb is racing a low key road 5K in July - his first race in a year - that's news. I say he cranks a 13:39 for the win AND THE COMEBACK IS ON. GO AW!!
Haven't Webb's prior attempts at racing on the roads been disasters? I could be wrong.

hahahahaha. love it. that dude always cracks me up.
we'll have a band. beer. well, none for me.
Yes, Webb DNF'ed the Carlsbad 5000. He quit after the 2 mile point and went to hid in a porta-potty. He was embarrassed about dropping out, but hiding in a porta-potty that had been heavily used--abused?--by other runners, come on, what was he thinking?
I haven't seen this skit because my company filters out time wasting fun, but I have to say that I really like these skits Nike et al are putting out - the first one was at that HS cross country race, then the Kara/Shalame skit and now this one - they are trying to put a face on these people - not just the stotan, pained look on most mid d/distance runners while they compete.
Should pay off. I suddenly care much more about Shalane than I used to.
By the way, I say Paula jogging at the Mini 10K and when she is smiling and laughing and jogging she looks completely different than her head nodding battleface in race mode. Maybe these things will help the sport.
And then there was the US 8k championship: http://www.letsrun.com/2008/results0313.php
I didn't realize that Nike used hand held security cameras that pan back and forth to keep the subject in the center of the frame
what was that bit about rupp? anyway, good luck alan, looking slimmer and hopefully enjoying what you are doing! best of luck, that 5K AR is within your reach, you and that whole portland crew.
I like this kind of stuff. Sure, it's dorky and obviously a put-on, not a real phone call, but it's fun to see our running "heroes" in a more casual or less serious way like this.
I didn't understand the bit he said about why Galen wasn't going to run the same race, though.
On the other hand, there was the Manchester Road Race '03 (albeit 6.5 years (!) ago) and 5th Ave. Mile of '07.
