Finley mismark
If you look at:
19.10i 1 Timmons Lawrence KS 5 Dec
18.62i 1 Easton Lawrence KS 8 Jan
18.31i 1 Mo v Ks Columbia MO 15 Jan
16.59i 2 Classic Lawrence KS 29 Jan
18.57i 2 Sevigne Lincoln NE 6 Feb
18.42Ai 1 AF Inv Air Force Academy CO 13 Feb
19.25i PB (52) 1 Big 12 Ames IA 27 Feb
18.75i 5 NCAA Fayetteville AR 12 Mar
18.40 1 KansasR Lawrence KS 17 Apr
19.26 PB (57) 1 McDonnell Fayetteville AR 30 Apr
19.12 1 Big 12 Columbia MO 14 May
19.25 2q West Regional Austin TX 27 May
And if you look at his series:
18.02m 18.40m 19.29m 20.68m 19.30m FOUL
The 20.68 m just doesn't make any sence, and surely is a mismark if you ask me.
Just curious about mismark. If the true mark would not have moved him up up from 4th it had to be off more than a meter. I have seen 19.68 called as 20.68 from official seeing 20m on tape when he looked down. How did this one get marked so wrong?
Yeah, I knew something seemed fishey. I was watching it streaming, and it didnt seem any better than his other throws.
Also, I saw the offical read the measurement, then let go of the tape, walk away, and then turn back around, and try to check the tape again.
Sadly, the only audio on the stream was the announcers, who only served one purpose: To remind us when Ryan was up.
Mason finleys 20.68m was recorded incorrectly, the throw did not go past the 20m line at the meet. Blake Eaton of psu is the true 2nd place finisher with Kemal 3rd and Mason 4th. After the meet the standings shown on the awards stand showed the correct placings. I respect mason as an athlete but as a first hand witness of the event I cannot let this go unsaid.
