Perfect, they all leaving it on the track two weeks too soon.

Because it takes an entire month to recover from a 2 lap race.

How many times you run prelims/semi's and finals twice in two weeks?
I am seeing 1:49 as his time, not 1:46
As I said after Andrews ran 3:41, Wheating you had a nice career, now prepare to be SLAPPED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
he just negative split a 1:46.87 (53.5)(53.37)
1 Aaron Evans SO Georgia 1:46.26 Q 3(1)
2 Richard Jones JR LSU 1:46.42
3(2)
3 Michael Rutt JR Connecticut 1:46.63 Q 3(3)
4 Robby Andrews FR Virginia 1:46.87 Q 1(1)
5 Fred Samoei JR Alabama 1:46.98 Q 1(2)
6 Brian Gagnon SR Connecticut 1:46.99 q 3(4)
7 Lance Roller SO Virginia 1:47.43 Q 1(3)
8 Sadiki White FR LSU 1:47.57 q 1(4)
9 Casimir Loxsom FR Penn State 1:47.73 Q 2(1)
10 Chris Labosky SR Yale 1:47.74 q 3(5)
11 Felix Kitur JR Virginia Military 1:47.94 Q 2(2)
12 Ryan Foster JR Penn State 1:47.99 Q
Where are the idiots who said Robby Andrews can only kick and not race fast?
This kid could obviously run a very fast 800 if he has the strength to kick hard an 800 won in 1:47-1:48ish.

A two-lap runner probably should blow the pipes out in a race if the next big race is two weeks away. Ditto for people in shorter events. Phoebe Wright blasted it, Ti'erra Brown and Queen Harrison both blasted it and Johnny Dutch really blasted it (48.12 is #2 in the world this year). They won their races by a long, long way and didn't have to go all out but probably felt like they needed to (or were instructed to). I think it's a good idea for some middle-distance (and below) runners to get a balls-to-the-wall effort in actual competition (not just a workout time trial) at the next-to-last meet, both from a physical standpoint and for confidence - especially if there is two-week window before the final championship. Of course, you probably wouldn't want to run yourself into the ground in a 10,000 two weeks after your conference meet and two weeks before the NCAA finals (unless you had to in order to qualify - kind of a drawback of having a 10,000 at the regional meet), but the 800 guys usually need those full-bore races (including the practice of doing it the day after a preliminary round) pretty regularly to get sharp and stay sharp.

First time I've seen this Andrews kid race. Very impressive.
I'm not saying he can't kick hard in a fast race but a 53.5 opening 400 is not going out fast.
Oh wait, I didn't see the 'by' the first time I read that headline. Oh well either way makes sense...
The WEST has the BEST! Watch out.
lol, Track and Field news predicted him to get fourth. wtf.

They also had Lisa Koll getting third in the 5k. Apart from Bizzari who the f' else can beat her.
Same with Andrews, apart from Wheating who can they honestly think could beat him right now.
Everybody should watch out for Arron Evans. He is on a roll and has momentum going into the NCAAs.
Casimir Loxsom FR Penn State 1:47.73 Q 2(1). Loxsom is going to SLAP Andrews silly when they meet. Loxsom has twice the racing ability of Andrews (the whipping boy). I cannot wait to see the chump Andrews when his ass gets kicked.
