My friend is in grad school to become a marriage and family counselor. One of the first things I told her when she decided to go that route was, "But you are not married!" She was quite upset but then informed me that none of the people, who are predominately women, in her cohort are married. Am I missing something? She replied with, "You don't have to have cancer to be a doctor."
So what do you all think? Do you have to be married to be a marriage counselor? A parent to write a parenting book? A runner to write a book on running?
