Some double layered socks make you feet feel like they are sliding about about a bit but these are just right!
It is well known that the Boston marathon is best run sockless. The downhills in the first 8 miles builds up sock friction due to your feet constantly sliding forward in your shoes. Then you hit the uphills around 20 and your socks are going to be on fire from friction caused by your feet sliding back in your shoes.
Go with no socks.

I would go with one type on each foot. Consider this year a learning year, and once you have this vital information for how to tackle the Boston course, you might be in line for the laurel wreath next year.
