Ryan Hall would get a little too religious. Meb wouldn't come off right either. Does anyone have the swagger to mix it up verbally? Maybe Shalane or Kara Goucher...

Probably not becasue Jim Rome is horrible. How he continues to be employed I don't know...
Ryan Hall should never be interviewed ever, it is too painful to listen to.
I vote Abdi but he has sucked lately.
The black cactus does have a rap. He is a trip in the Fam DVD talking about his 20's
Fam, maybe Ritz
Ritz, definately.

^ This!
A btter question would be "Is there an American marathoner that would make it worth watching Jim Rome to see them?"
None. Mass audience will tune out.
Jim Rome still has a show?
abdi because he is the black cactus and is the man.
i would like to see what jim rome makes of josh cox. he would have a field day with that dbag.
Dean Karnazes?
Seriously, I like Jim Rome a lot. I wish I had the opportunity to listen more.

Ritz is boring.
The radio show is great. The tv show is a little bland. Symmonds would be good, although he is no marathoner
Ritz's voice is horrible enough in video, it'd be unbearable on radio. Rachel in Houston has a deeper voice.
How about have the Hansons brothers interviewed by the Sklar brothers (Brooks Running Superfans) when they filling in? Rodgers would be good, maybe Salazar too. Brian Sell would probably be good, too, if he's not in a terse mood. Meb has a great story that Rome could probably do a good job of drawing out and framing. Ditto Magda Boulet. Des Davila might be both thoughtful and fun in an interview. Goucher or Kastor would be triple u. Flanagan is hardly better. Of the current crop of US marathoners, there are unfortunately few who are both loquacious and thoughtful. Amy Hastings would be great, especially on tv.
Coach K on right now, which is always great. I'm not really a fan of the tv show, either, but then his bosses dictate that format. On the radio, he does some of the best interviews in the biz.
They would have to bass up his voice. He sounds like rojo

ERRRRRR! I'm employed because I have a style all my own and get the clones to try to imitate me; they try to imitate me, try to sound like me. [shuffling papers for no apparent reason].
I've said I wouldn't talk about this again, but of course I will. My career took off because I called Jim Everett "Chris". He told me I wouldn't do it again, and I did. It was EPIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He said I wouldn't do it again and I did. Didn't think I would, but I did. It was HILARIOUS!
I just got back from a week in the basement, so J. Stew has to hook me up with what's been going on around here...Oh, Roethlisberger is in trouble again? That's a boring story. Who didn't see that coming? Not as boring though as talking to a marathoner. "Oh, so you run for 30 miles? Oh, that's great." I know it's not 30 miles, but I honestly don't know how far it is...24 miles? I don't really know and I don't care. If you're going to be a marathoner and talk to me on this show, you'd better be blind or run with your hair on fire or something. Remember when I talked to Marla Runyan on the show? She's blind! That dude could beat me up in any way possible. I'm REALLY impressed with that dude. Only love for her. She could whip my ASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS; that's all I'm saying.
Not sure how I got on all that. Oh yeah, some loser decided I shouldn't have a career. This show has only gotten more and more popular since I started radio in Santa Barbara back in the early days. Maybe loser boy should start his own show and see if he can do as well as me. DOUBT IT! He'd have a better chance entering the octagon without getting one of his sticks snapped off.
Jim Rome - OUT!
Some DJ's have a face for radio.
Jim Rome has a voice for silent movies.
Ffffffffaaaaaaattttttttt!
