I'm looking for a shoe for brisker runs like tempo, fartlek, etc. I've been training in the Landreth and Wave Rider. I think that these two may be good possibilities, but would love some opinions on them.

Have you tried the DS Trainer? Nice shoe and the last model is on sale at running warehouse. I just ordered a pair of lunarfly's. I like the Nike Zoom Victory trainers, but Nike discontinued. The Brooks Launch is a nice shoe too.
If you like Asics then you'll probably like the Speedstar. What else would you need to know?
I split my regular training between the DS Trainer and the Speedstar (4 - the red/black ones). Someone can note the DS is a stability shoe while the Speedstar is a neutral shoe, but the truth is they are similar. The Speedstar is exactly one ounce lighter per shoe (I weighed my size 9s on my drug dealer/cycling parts scale) and the Speedstars feel much zippier and lighter than one ounce would imply. I'm injury prone and have Hyperspeeds for short races but can't wear them for anything over 10K, so I have my Speedstars for tempo runs, half marathons and marathons. Love the shoe and have worn them on 20-mile training runs with success.
Lunarfly's just came today. They feel pretty good just walking around in. Not gonna run in them until after Boston, but they feel similar to lunar trainer, but without the feeling you are gonna fall out of them when you take a corner. They kind of remind me of the Nike Anodynes of the early 90's.
I got my Lunarflys yesterday - wore them to work today before running in them. I'm a little skeptical - they feel bulkier than I expected given the listed ~9.5 oz, and a little stiff too. But this is my first time wearing any Lunar series shoe, maybe that takes getting used to. I like the cushioning, but the upper feels inflexible.
The Flys are definitely stiffer than I expected, especially with all of the comparisons to the Hayward upper. They also run a bit long. Overall though, I like em.
