So I do my mileage in the Green Silence. What's a good shoe to be walking around in?
I find the Converse All-Star shoes a bit too minimalist because I'm just building back from Achilles and PF injuries.
I guess I'm looking for something that has some cushioning but that doesn't prop up my heel like the Saucony Ride with its significant heel-to-toe drop. Something with a neutral platform but more support than the All Stars.
I hear its not a good idea to walk around in shoes much different than the ones you run in.
Thank you!
I had this issues with the All Star too. The problem with them, I feel, is that the insole is _extremely_ thick in the heel which encourages 'lazy' walking without providing any requisite arch support.
I took out my All Stars' insoles and then they were fine. Camisoles (like Keds) are even better though -- the sole is thinner, the outsole is way more flexible, and they have no insole. Perfect.
I understand that you have some foot issues presently, so maybe just wearing a running shoe until that clears up is the best idea, but consider just trying out your All Stars without the (glued-in... it's tough to get out) sole in the future! Cheers.
