I'm about to graduate college from a cold, drab school in northeast ohio. I ran in high school, did not run in college, but have recently just started back up. I want to move, and I want to live near a college campus that is just awesome to run around and about. What scenery is important to me? ... VARIETY. I like to run and have the stuff around me be constantly changing. I like a bit of nature, a bit of people, a bit of shops and stores, a bit of commerce, a bit of houses, .... and ideally (but that is often not feasible) lots of grassy areas (for barefoot running) and other areas with soft surfaces.
I also want to live someplace where there are LOTS of deer. My latest hobby is chasing deer (google up persistence hunting ... I don't actually kill the deer, it's just cool to chase them for a while). It's a lot of fun. But areas that are too wooded and too muddy (like NE ohio) present a challenge. A savanna type climate would probably suit me best. warm, dry, some trees but not too many, and a good amount of deer.
