Thinking of buying a pair of Puma's off Holabird. Anyone else here bought them ? and what did you think of the shoe ? I'm a fat old guy trying to re enter the running world.

Id stick to a more 'tried and true' running brand. Maybe go to a running store. As a fat old guy myself I have learned that you gotta go to the experts. You'll save yourself from injuries etc.
I'm an older heavier runner and have used the Asics Kayano for the last 3 pairs and loved them!
I went to the local running shop to get another pair of Kayanos but the new ones are too snug in the toebox so I tried some others that the shoe fitter said were compareable - nike mizuno new balance and puma.
I ended up going with the puma Spectana - they felt amazing and were nice and roomy in the toe box.
I'd say go to the running store and try them and a few other brands and decide there what is good for your foot!
I currently train in a pair of the Puma Complete Concinnity and am quite happy with the engineering, fit, and finish of the shoe. They remind me a lot of some of the great shoes that I wore back when I first started running, like the Asics Gel Exult. I agree with others, as well; Puma along with every other manufacturer makes models for each basic category of running shoe, go with what fits you best.
