The 3000 at UW is like this every year, exciting stuff!
The video is up -
LOL at D2 guys running with an Olympian. The guy did double but, come on, these are D2 guys! Braun from Adams State nearly stole that race from 600 meters out.
7:51 is a terrible time for an early season race, having run a 3:56 mile 1.5 hours before! Rupp is done! Ahhhhh!
Yeah, all the rupp should quit talk and he can't run as fast as german talk is pretty stupid. But it was kinda funny to see the facility record on the results listed at 7:47 held by one German Fernandez. I chuckled a little bit.
Well, let's not forget that Rupp has 4+ years on German.
Braun is a fvcking MAN! That was a great move by him. He damn near stole the thing. All he's missing is a big manly stache!
Hell of a run by Braun. Also don't forget about Medigovich, who was only 4 seconds back in 5th. So that makes three D2 or former D2 runners in the top 5 at a very large race. They both ran very well.
I will also throw a shout to Luke Craig from Adams for a good race.

German, who was peaking for an upcoming world XC race, vs. who is getting ready for the late spring/early summer track season a few months out.
It was a great race, but Rupp was in control right through the tape. Scotty is looking more like his '08 self, which is good.

Scary to think that the best Adams guy, Mwei, didn't even run. That team is really good and might be the deepest in all of college.
Let's not forget that Bauhs (and Braun) just came down from 7,000 feet altitude, where I doubt they were able to do much faster training with the recent lousy weather.
i doubt bauhs is up in the snow right now when hes right by sunny san diego
Watching the Mile/3k races coming down to a mass kick (off of fast pacing) was exciting stuff! The Adams State guy went for the win with a few laps left. IMPRESSIVE.
Rupp is so controlled and tactically second to none. Great rust busters for all!
The Ladies 3k was exceptional as well. And it was free to watch!
I wasn't impressed with Rupp's tactics. He let the Adam's State guy go with two laps left. If Braun had a bit more left, he maintains that gap for the win.
Rupp is now a pro. He can't toy with people like he could in college. He should have stuck right on Braun, and then kicked him down for the win.

Sitting and kicking is a lazy tactic, not a competitive one.
Rupp is not a competitive runner.

I have to disagree. I think it was really solid 3k for Rupp if you consider the circumstances. He just came back from 3:56 mile, which would sap the kick out of most runners. Then he saw the move by this D2 chump (no offense he's a great runner in his own right), which probably was unexpected in a race full of pros. Probably thought Braun was going too early (at least I did), but on the last lap, Rupp figured this guy was no slouch, and his competitive instincts kicked in and he chased him down on the last lap. In my mind, that was a really tough closing kick after running a speedy early season indoor mile. Coming back from a gap like that in a late part of a race shows some guts.
great race. really hope this gives braun a chance to go pro, he just keeps improving year to year. and bauhs is looking fit after a year of hard pro training. why would rupp double? hope salazar has this under control and doesnt burn him out

Wow, ground-breaking observation there....
FYI Bauhs is in Mammoth, in the snow, not San Diego
