27:10 in the spring; 7:29 in the summer; 2:05 in the fall ??
27:10 in the spring; 7:29 in the summer; 2:05 in the fall ??
I'm doubting the 7:29 but then again last year I would have doubted 12:56. I'd rather see him crack 27 than any of those.

The AR in the 10,000 is a certainty at some point for him (unless someone else gets it first)...he's definitely a sub 27 minute 10,000 guy.
While I wouldn't count him out in the 3,000, that takes a bit more focused training, and a bad day REALLY hurts him there. I do think he's capable of 2:05 in the marathon, but again that race is so long that anything can happen. Of the three, it seems he has the best shot this year at the 10,000. People should quit being surprised by him though...he's shown this talent for a long long time. Someone here vociferously said so for years. I can't remember who that was...WAIT!...silly me, it was ME!

Yea verily dat.
60:00/58:33 *26:17=~26:56
12:56/12:37 *26:17=~26:56
I would say yes, he is definitely a sub 27:00 guy
btw, 12:56/26:56/60:00=~7:31, so I don't really see him breaking 7:30 as 5k-15k is his "sweet spot"
Also converts to ~2:07:00 in the marathon, which I think he will do better than...eventually
I think he can get the 400 world record if he tries really hard.
He's most likely to break the 10k record. 3k will be tough and based on his previous marathons, the marathon record may be even tougher.
Yes he can. All he has to do is print the records, hold the paper in his hands, and look to see the time he has to beat. He won't beat the times though.
He'll get the 10k record this year, but thats it. He'll run New York, which won't be fast enough for the Marathon record, and with Lagat moving up and Teg still focusing of the 5k I bet his 12:56 goes down this summer. I doubt he even races a 3k.

Oh come on, a realist would see that for many years if things kept going the way they were going no way in hell for a 12:56. And even when he ran so well in Berlin everyone started saying AR, maybe sub 27. But even that wasn't on the level of the 12:56.
he has a shot at the 10k record which really isn't that fast comparably. The 3k and the marathon are pretty far out of league he is in right now. Keep in mind the marathon record was the WR not that long ago.
He has hinted at a fall marathon, so I doubt he'll want to be in great 3000 shape in mid-/late-July. But the 10,000 American Record is his for the taking.

You are really clueless; Ritz has no chance to run sub 7:35 in the 3k; matter of fact his 5k AR will go down very soon (Teg is very motivated) I do agree that Teg and Ritz are the studs!!!! Teg 5k and lower (until he decides to get serious in the 10k) At this time Ritz is the 10k and up stud!!!!!
They sure are studs!!!! YAY!!!!!!
if he is capable of a 2:05 it is a long way in his future
Webb will take the 3k and 5k records this year.

That's just plain stupid. You don't think Ritz is motivated? That's how he ran 12:56. You're an idiot.
Or how about I'm "very motivated," I expect the American record to fall in my next 5k...because I'm "motivated."
Alan ran a mile faster than any other American ever. He was mostly responsible for the re-emergence of running interest in this country. He could actually hold the American record in the mile and break several American distance records in the future, which is something that has never happened. He could go down as the greatest runner in American history, at least until he has inspired the next generation to replace him.
Ritz will give him a good run. Can you imagine when they both challenge Hall. God forbid Rupp should be in the mix.

Salazar has demonstrated his ability as a coach up to the half marathon distance but so far he hasn't had any really noteworthy results from his marathoners. Goucher's 2:25 debut was good, but only that. Whether he can take Ritz to his potential in the marathon is at this stage pretty debatable.
