any past experiences?
I'm not a fan of shoes above 11oz and I really like the free, especially for easy morning jogs.

I was pretty crazy in my running days (finished eligibility not too long ago). Did a couple of 130-140 miles a week in my frees. No joke. During summer break, my regular day would look like:
am: 10-12 miles EASY, think 7:30-8:30 but constantly going over steep hills.
pm: 8-10 miles, 7 of those done as a progressive run: first @ 8ish then pushing down to 6 over the next 3, last 3 were pushed down till 5:15.
I'd also do weekly longer workouts like 6x1 mile on the road, and 12x1k on the track. All of it done in frees. I was very light though - 5'6 112 pounds - so I'm more of an exception than a rule.
One last thing, my long runs were usually very long (2+ hours but generally slow - 7:30 tops, with sometimes the last 3 miles sub 6.) and done in frees on CONCRETE/asphalt.
I remember my first run on the frees being a 14 mile run.. my calfs were bricks for like 3 days. After that, it was smooth running. Man, I used to love the frees.
