what are everyones thoughts on how the big ten individual race will play out?

Hassan Mead
MN guy is the big favorite and the freshman from Iowa surprised everyone running with an NCAA fav at the Wisconsin addidas Invitational. Wisconsin is got a lot of guys but probably not one for the top two slots unless the kid from Saint Catherine's (Canada) comes around very fast. I saw that someone noted the Forys might redshirt -- I have no idea -- but that would take out a contender for the podium.
This will not be like 2005 (or so) when Wisconsin went 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,9,10 or some such ridiculous ordering (first non-Wisco might have been 5th).
Mead wins by far and away.
Peacock would've been close, but will need to round into form better than he showed at Wiscosnin.
I think Wiscosnin will win pretty easily because I can't really guess who will be 2nd between Michigan, Indiana, or Minnesota. Wisconsin just has too many guns.
Jeff See. Ohio State will have at least 3 in the top 10. 4-5 in the top 15.
OSU won't be top 5.
They used to race so tough with a bunch of 9:30-type 2-milers. Now, they just talk about next year and their football team. Gary shouldn't have accepted head track position.
OSU looks a little shakey. Unless the two freshman running at 4 and 5 have improved dramatically since high school track season.
Did Balyo run over the summer?

Good question haha.
Mead wins... too strong for everyone else.
Wisconsin
Indiana
then 2-5 could be any combination of OSU, Michigan, or Minnesota.

Said it before, will say it again. See is a pansy, no way he wins any race that matters. Going gets tough and he quits like the sissy he is.
I think you said the same thing about All-Ohio, when he wound up winning...
Ok.
1-Mead
2-Miller
3-See.
I'll Say Wisconsin has 2/3 freshman that might be all big 10. I think OSU will have there two freshman all big ten.
Wisconsin
Indiana
Michigan
Minnesota
OSU

Oh my god, how pathetic is the competition at All-Ohio? I'm sure that high school kid from Cincy could have won that race. Oooh, I beat a bunch of NAIA and D3 guys! Look at me!
Does anyone know what the course is like or how the weather may affect who might win?
Jeff See was a USATF finalist last year and just missed being an Olympic Trials finalist the year before when only 2 or 3 other collegians even qualified. Who cares about collegiate cross country? I oredict a top10 finish next weekend at Big 10's. Mead wins with Peacock and some other Wisconsin guy finishing 3rd. Wisconsin will have all 5 in top 15 and win easily.

Good runners who aren't pansies.

There are still lots of questions about a number of Wisconsin runners, at least for the general public (the team likely knows a lot more but are not saying too much). They have a home race tomorrow, but it will likely only be secondary guys running; I might go watch on a cold, wet morning.
At the Invite, Miller and Gaspar really fell off in the latter part of the race. However, that was three weeks ago in heavy training those guys have some quality marks -- 3:37, 8:43SC. Bolas apparently is looking better as well as Peacock and several freshmen will push everyone else (AHmed, Darling, Connor), and there are not-well-known names that are no slouches (Bateman, Finnerty, Krause...).
There are too many guys that are likely getting fit for them to not win Big Tens, especially since that actually run 9 even though they only score 7 (a few years back Wisconsin's #8 guy was in the top 10, biggest blowout ever at Big Tens).
We do know its Penn State and they do have their own weather system up there. That being said though its perfect Big Ten Cross Country weather.
I do feel like Miller and Gasper will make a run, never count out a Wisconsin runner at a Big Ten Championship, yet Hassan Mead has to tbe the clear favorite with guys like Jeff See(Ohio State) and Jeff Thode(Iowa) chasing him down. I was impressed at how he ran at Pre-Nats, he has a no fear attitude.
I have seen Wisco run decently and I am confident in Coach Burn to get the ready to win the Big Ten, but im still not sold on Wisconsin winning it all. Way to many question marks. , could this be the year that someone finally upsets them? Michigan tried to run Wisco's race when it was at Michigan and that didn't go well at all.
1. Wisconsin
Indiana
3. Michigan
4. Minnesota
5. Iowa
The women's side is up in the air as well right now Illinois, Minnesota, Michigan, Iowa and Penn State all have shots at winning it all.
1. Illinois
2. Minnesota
3. Michigan
4. Iowa
5. Penn State
6. Indiana
This year, and for the first time in a long time, there is no clear team favorite. Indiviual wise, Angela Bizzari(Illinois) Megan Dual (Minnesota) are the favorites with Emily MacLeod (Michigan State) and Brooke Elliers(Iowa) outside shot to finish in the top 5.
Warhurst will once again think this is the year for Michigan to upset Wisconsin and will take redshirt off Forys like his freshman year when he finished 6th. This is the best shot Michigan will have as the only question about Wisconsin is their youth this year, so they may as well go for it. As for Indiana, I just can't see it with their more middle distance types!
see what jeff see ran at pre nats?!!?!?
