If I could only read three magazines to further my knowledge, which would they be?

The Economist
I concur, The Economist is great. It comes once a week and if you read just 50% of what is in it each week you will be more knowledgeable about everything than 99% of Americans.
As a marketer, I think The Economist's name probably hurts it b/c most people probably think it's really dry and all about economics. When, in fact, it's about all current events and very easy to read.
ORDER THE ECONOMIST and scrap Newsweek and Time.
I second The Economist.
Also maybe US News?
So you want to know about broads huh? Letsrun would NOT be a good choice.
The Atlantic
Yes, definitely The Economist, the magazine that in 2006 put Hassan Nasrallah on the cover and declared a historic shift in the balance of power in the Middle East with Hizb Allah's victory against Israel !
The best information on broads probably wouldn't be in a mainstream webzine, but rather some network of well-kept blogs that are committed to varying degrees of feminism. Off the top of my head, there's Jezebel, but I think the two chicks that write that made some really cavalier statements about rape not too long ago, leading some to think that they're just crazy.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.
Learn about broads? Easy:
Hustler
Penthouse
Playboy
Swank
Etc
The Economist for an in depth look at weekly issues.
The Week for a very glossy look at weekly issues, including pop culture.
New York Times.
I think that is all you need, really.
Of course, you don't need any of these things b/c the Internet has it all for you, whenever you want, for free.
Agree Economist #1
If you have time, add The New Yorker. Takes time but good stuff.
The I would consider a political/news magazine from the opposite end of the political spectrum from you. The Weekly Standard or The Nation, whatever fits.
its funny that everyone said the economist because when i saw this thread that is instantly what i thought of. yeah, just go to economist.com and look at some articles, they have the most recent edition for free. getting it in print is very expensive, but definitely worth it.

Thanks for the heads up on the Economist. I've heard of it, but never seen or read it. Just perusing the website is informative. Think I might have to look into a subscription.

The Economist is great for an overview on what has just happened from a much more international perspective than the US newsweeklies -- and written in sprightly British prose.
But for an unbeatable combo of deeper perspective on a couple Big Issues, quirky excerpts from all over the map, and excellent fiction, you need to check out Harper's.
Only one needed, The Economist, as others here have confirmed.
It's a fair amount of reading each week but enough. Your IQ will go up or at least feel like it. Just fabtastic and worth the steep subscription price.
I complement withis with Vanity Fair which is either brilliant or self absorbed.
I am going to let my Newsweek lapse after about 15 yrs. It's just awful of late.
