Who won?
Who won?
Not Dan Browne (he was 20-30 behind leader @ 7 miles).
Course record (no idea on time) for both men & women
Was a little warm ~70 degrees and sunny.
Was not 70 degrees, assuming that the race started at 8:00 or 9:00 EDT (12Z or 13Z):
KDCA 041152Z 00000KT 10SM FEW130 13/08 A2996 RMK AO2 SLP143 T01330078 10150
20122 53021=
KDCA 041252Z 35006KT 10SM FEW120 16/09 A2997 RMK AO2 SLP147 T01610089=
KDCA 041352Z 32014G21KT 10SM CLR 19/07 A2998 RMK AO2 SLP151 T01890067=
It was gorgeous.. I finished in 55:30 and it was still only 65 degrees in the sun. An absolutely gorgeous day for a race. Needless to say, I did not see Dan Browne.
Weather was utterly perfect. 55, dry, very slight breeze.
The posted results for women showed Samia Akbar winning (very nice, as I think she was leading a few years back when they had some abandoned bags issue that led to them rerouting the course (terrorism concerns).
Lauren Centrowitz was fourth, IIRC; Dan Browne was second on the men's side. I don't recall any other results.
Browne actually finished third. The top three rolled from the start.
Samia Akbar broke the course record for the women with Alene Reta breaking the men's course record.
Here's Jim Hage's Washington Post article about the race:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/10/04/AR2009100401876.html
I would love to see Browne come back to his old form
Better use a time machine for that.
Alene Reta won the race and took out another course record at a race that is big enough to offer prize money, but small enough that he doesn't have to worry about being exposed as a drug cheat
i finished in 60:27, and the sun felt merciless...but I wilt in the sun and heat. Not an ideal day for me.Could have been much worse though, fer shure...

Maybe you should have worn your short Skins instead of your long ones.
How competitive was the race on the women's side?
Great race by Samia Akbar!
Does anyone know how close the next female finishers were?
Samia won by a bit over a minute.
Centrowitz was actually sixth. The women's race spread out early:
7 AKBAR, SAMIA F27 HERNDON VA 0:55:25
167 READ, KATIE F23 ARLINGTON VA 0:56:39
54 GURMU, MULUYE F25 ELLICOTT CITY MD 0:57:20 52 TRANA, GABRIELA F29 ELLICOTT CITY MD 0:58:54
9 POTTER, EMILY F30 PETERSBURG VA 0:59:45
432 CENTROWITZ, LAUREN F23 ARLINGTON VA 0:59:52
Are photos posted anywhere?

Yup, saw that later on the website. I was going off of what I saw posted on the board near the finish line. I think there were quite a few errors there, because I know Dan Browne was listed as second.
I know there were a few problems with timing there this year -- I know of at least two people whose D-tags didn't read. So it's quite possible that the results I saw posted excluded some of the top runners.
anyone have a photos link?
I hate Sue too because she always blew me away in races. Actually, I dont hate anyone... If you do your research, you will find that Alene Reta, the known cheat of the 2010 Army Ten Miler ran for team MarathonGuide.com. So, your facts are a little off...In addition, how can someone whore runners around at a race that does not offer money? The person who wrote the last response must be an angry military officer who is a hater and can't run fast. May God Bless you with a little more talent so you stop hating..
