Based on this week's USTFCCCA national rankings for the men:
#11 Tulsa
#15 Providence
#20 Butler
#22 Washington
#24 New Mexico
#26 Florida State
#28 Notre Dame
#30 Princeton
#33 Arizona State (by votes after #30)
#35 Penn State
#36 UCLA
So about half the field is either currently ranked or receiving votes. Should make for a competitive race for 3rd behind Tulsa and Providence.
Butler 3rd? Behave!!!
Providence and David McCarthy will win.
McCarthy v. Bethke!!!!!
new mexico will surprise some people
I wouldn't be surprised to see them do well,... heck i think they can win the thing, depending on whos running for their team
Fast, hard course could suit NCAA mile champ Lee Emanuel. Also in his team, 4 min miler David Bishop, Jacob Kirwa (sub 14 runner), Rory Fraser (13.39), Chris Barnacle (sub 29 10km guy), and new recruit Keith Gerrard (Great Britain xc international runner)
Butler has 2 time all american xc runner Andy Baker. As well as NCAA bronze medal steepler Lisgo and sub 14 guy Joe Macdonald as well as 4 min miler Gausen. Great xc runner as well as some good track runners, on this course, make for a fast team with a definite chance of a top 3.
Let the Brits do battle!
I repeat, Providence and David McCarthy will win.
You were heard the first time. Do you have any other predictions or are you just sticking with the safest?
2nd place, 3rd place?
Or would you like to repeat again the result most people think is already the likliest as if you are the first person to think it.
Will this be streamed live on the web?

After watching his workout on flotrack...this is a good call.
Will the meet be on universal?
SIU will be in the mix!

FSU-Princeton should be an absolute dogfight. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
McCarthy vs. Bethke vs. Beattie vs. O'Lionard for the individual title.
It will also be interesting to see where some of the younger (fresh/soph) guys do. Jeremy Rae, Donn Cabral/Brian Leung, Mike Fout for example. Also the transfers like O'Lionard- (FSU) and Matthews (PC). Should be a good one.
Don't forget the Providence sophomores. Channon and Carey. Channon ran 7:58 for 3k last year and he's the same age as that Princeton guy.
Gerrard from the UK is a much better cross country runner than the irish duo of McCarthy and O'Lionaird.
Yeah but Gerrard is good at British cross. This race doesn't compare. It's a track race and his track times don't live up to his cross country performances.
Then there's that other guy that was AA indors and made the 5k final outdoors--matt leeder. If braman has managed to keep Ciaran and him healthy, look for them to surprise--maybe Roberts too if he hasn't age graduated and can haul his bulk around the course...
i do not think keith gerrard will be racing Notre Dame.
that being said, i think jacob kirwa from new mexico will win the race individually
