word. rich people like michael moore should not be making money off of us schmucks. the world would work much better if they gave us everything for free. it's our right.
I can't wait until that fat bastard piece of shit blows up from being so fat. I would pay good money to see that. That's the best thing he could do for us.
He favors a mixed economy of an FDR variant.
So do you mean he thinks we've gone too far down the path of socialism?
his movie is not anti-capitalism... it is anti the type of capitalism that is prevalent in the USA today.
just because i do not like strawberry ice cream does not mean i do not like all ice cream.
there are many flavors of capitalism just as there are many flavors of ice cream
what kind of idiot doesn't like strawberry ice cream?
Read some Ludwig von Mises. He wrote extensively on the subject of socialism (and capitalism). In his writings, he showed why a middle of the road policy (a mixture of socialism and capitalism, i.e. "interventionism") cannot be sustained. Any attempt at such a policy must inevitably move toward either a more capitalist system or a more socialist system. An interventionist system cannot be maintained.

boring.
other "theorists" have plenty of theories that would refute this.
OK, you basically just said that democracy is unstable, as both pure capitalism (lasse-faire) and pure communism both require some form of government that either doesn't care about its people or has perfect people. I hope you know that. Of course it is true that democracy is unstable, but so is just about every human endevor. The pure states are also unstable as a people for whom the government cares nothing are going to revolt eventually. I hope you aren't so fatalistic as to propose we try to do away with an interventionist system and democracy.
and Minsky wrote extensively on how capitalism will always failhis writings are eerily predictive of what has taken place over the past 10 years

Capitalism, while it has hit a blip, is still working. Socialism, particularly marxist, has NEVER worked.

As long as you give him free passes to the movie you made. What? You haven't made a movie? Or done anything with your life except post bitchy comments on Letsrun? Yeah, he makes a lot of money, but he does it by making important, salient, socio-politically relevant films that help to galvanize a large segment of the population against the forces in this country that have destroyed our constitution, ruined our international reputation, and promoted greed and insane wealth disparity. He's getting my 10 bucks, happily.
Did no one actually read what I wrote? I didn't say anything about one system being right or wrong or better or worse than another system. I didn't say anything about the stability of capitalism or socialism. I made no remarks in that regard. I simply stated that an interventionist system cannot be maintained. It must move one direction or the other. This is basic logic.

I read what you wrote. I like strawberry ice cream. Also, this country needs national health care. Healthcare for all, because someday YOU may need it. Yes, capitalism is good. So is not forcing people into homelessness to pay for medical care. If capitalists keep importing foreign made goods into this country eventually we won't have anything to BUY those goods with because we don't have anything to export. You cannot ignore that. Pure capitalism will turn this country into a third world and I can't afford to move someplace better. Ooo look! A bunny!
Nice attempts at humor.
I hope you understand that the reason that these "capitalists" import foreign goods is because the prices of production are too high here in the United States due to excessive taxation and union laws. I completely agree that our massive trade deficit is a huge issue. Our consumption of foreign-made goods using borrowed money is an unsustainable system. But I'm not sure why you blame that on "capitalists". You have to understand that we don't really have a capitalist system in the United States. We have some capitalist elements, yes, but they are quickly disappearing. The Federal Reserve, for example, is diametrically opposed to capitalism. We have government control all throughout our economy. It's rather disingenuous to blame capitalism for all of our problems while ignoring the extensive role that government plays. And it would be impossible to overstate the role that corruption and collusion between government and big business plays in our economy. That is NOT a capitalist ideal. Too many people think that the free market is what allows these crooks to make a killing at the expense of the rest of us, when in reality, it is the LACK of a free market that lets much of this abound. People in positions of power have found ways to enrich themselves and their friends by abusing that power and making mandates that benefit certain companies or groups. That's not free market capitalism. That is government run amok.
Hey Rummy, you lied us and bullied others in our gov\'t into a war we didn\'t need, that cost of 1000\'s of lives, and will cost, by the end a few TRILLION $\'s. You really, really screwed this country over you bastard. So.... if anyone needs to blow up die, you should be the first to go , you piece of shit, arrogant, murderer.

The Fed's opposed to capitalism? Nice.
The entire concept of a central bank is in opposition to true free market capitalism.

Can you point to a society that exists that is based on true free market capitalism?
I agree with many of your comments in principle, but I just wonder if the Libertarian utopia is possible.
