Has anyone been able to successfully use their G-405 HRM indoors only to measure calories burned during a run/spinning class? If so, please share! Thanks!

I do not have a 405, but I've used my 305 indoors as a HRM.
Not sure if the controls are the same for both, but with my 305, I turn it on, then hit "mode" when it starts searching for satellites to take me to the distance/pace/time/HR screen, obviously disregarding the first two items.
stroke (don't tap) the left side of the bezel, scroll down to GPS, tap the right side of the bezel to turn GPS off then exit out by stroking (not tapping) one of the other settings.
There is also an "indoor" mode under settings I believe, but turning off GPS does the trick for me. In order to measure your cadence on an indoor bike, I am pretty sure you need a foot attachment, so without that, you might as well just register your HR over time.
