It lists Eric as a freshman. Since he went to school at UofOregon, didn't he lose some eligibility...I know he never competed back don't you have 5 years to get it in...
So Burchill is gone and Heinonen is in. Erik spent the summer in Boulder last year as an intern with the Boulder Camera newspaper.
Anyone with anything else
Erik's dad is a coach for the UO track club that I run w/ periodically from time to time. From what Tom has mentioned, Erik chose to transfer for a number of personal reasons but the biggest one was the amount of medical support he recieved from CU while interning at the newspaper in Boulder over the summer. UO has not helped Erik that much I guess as far as medical attention goes and he hasn't had really any opportunities to race (that part is a personal observation). Tom also told me that Erik has two years of eligibility left (no redshirts) and hopes to compete as soon as he can get over his injuries and stuff.
In looking at that link/roster, I'd have to say one thing:
Get off of your asses, CU Sports Info! You probably should have a photo/bio of the NCAA Champion on your home website.
Bio and picture is under Cross Country team, plus great articles on championship!!
where is burchill going?
transferred to Az State

You probably ought to cut the sports info people some slack. School just started at a lot of places (and at some schools it hasn't even started yet), and I would think they probably wouldn't update stuff until rosters were set and everything. Plus, track probably doesn't rank high enough at most schools for it to be the top priority. Most sports info departs are probably more concerened with keeping basketball, football (recruiting season) and baseball up to date because the media is more focused on those sports. I may be wrong, and for sure (check out CSU) there are some schools who are always way behind the ball...
So they lose Burchill (a very nice surprise while at CU) but they bring in Deak, Harkrader, Heinonen, and Strang (FL finalist from Tennessee)! Not a bad trade off.
So, next year they get to choose from Ritz, Nelson, Schoolie, Vaughn, Jared Scott, Severy, Batliner, Pipher, Deak, Harkrader, Heinonen, Strang, Pete Janzen, Dillon, and Castro!!
Looks like CU is starting to stockpile studs like some other programs! I'm guessing people like Batliner, Scott, and Severy have seen the last of their varsity days, while Janzen, Dillon, and Castro may never see them.
A pretty formidable top 7 next year would be Ritz, Nelson, Vaughn, Schoolie, Deak, Pipher, and Harkrader (but possibly Scott, Severy, Batliner, or Heinonen). Young, but damn talented! Ritz and Nelson will be top ten, Vaughn and Schoolie (how many bad NC's can he have) top 30-40, Deak and Pipher probably 60-80. It would place top 3 for sure. Can Stanford repeat what they have done the last two years, probably not - but will be very strong nontheless. Wisconsin should have similar placings to CU as could NAU (though probably not the up front that CU and Wisco)
Just a question here, but I just read Burchill's bio and it said in high school he lettered in SCUBA. Anyone? Anyone? Buehler? How is that done?
Has Strang signed/committed verbally or is he still on the fence?
No scholarship limits anymore! (NCAA Track and Field inequality is going to get way worse, right?)
