On the iaaf preview it has an update saying he has changed to the 1,000. So it should be and interesting matchup between him and Lagat!

looking forward to this race. Manzano in there, too.
How much will Kaki's winning margin be?
lagat will kick him down at the end.
Where were lagat and manzano in this one?
We don't know where they were, because it hasn't happened yet. Friday.
kaki yet to race over 800m? or at least not in awhile? could play into Lagat (one of the smartest racers) hands
kaki ran 1:43.mid at monaco on tuesday.
I disagree with anyone that thinks Lagat will be competitive in this. What have we seen to indicate that he can run in a 1000 with a 1:43 guy with good strength? Kaki, Ismail and Chepkirwok I think will gap Lagat who is only a 1:45 guy right now.
My prediction- Ismail 2:14 high, Kaki 2:15low, Chepkirwok 2:15 high, Lagat 2:16 mid
kaki ran a very fast 1k last year and should win this. lagat should be around 2:15-16, about 2 seconds back.
Kaki going away in 2:12.5, lagat struggling.

Kaki is maybe in 2:14 shape...maybe. I would have to say he hits 2:15 tomorrow...
Lagat 2:16. The winning time will be 2:14 or a low 2:15.
Lagat doesn't stand a chance. This distance is too fast a race for him. It is a tune up and a speed check. He really knows how to prepare for the big races. He should run just barely under 2:15. Like 2:14.9
kaki 3rd in 216 high. looked like he was jogging through 800m in 149 but didn't feel well today. looked awful the last 200.
they should have had better pacemaking. krumenaker or whatever his name is took them through 400 in 53 but then they hit 600 in 121-22. why couldn't krum have taken them through 600 in 118 or so?
