Wow, Martinez is on a roll... 4:09 last week, now lowers her PR down to 2:00.8
The race is now up on flotrack. Another amazing finish by Brenda. Sub 2:00 is on the way!
Wow, good going Brenda!! That Irv Ray is one hell of a coach!!
If Irv Ray is so stellar why did Brenda not show up when it really counts at USATF Nationals so she could go to Worlds?
Hey, the man can only do so much. What, do you want him to get out and run for her? God bless America and Irv Ray!
i second that!
Why does everyone keep getting excited about 2:00+ female 800m runners. That's over7 seconds off of the WR Pace.
Do we get up in arms when guys run 1:48's?

You mean the Andrew Wheating who has run 1:45.03? Good one genius...
Umm considering how that WR is probably NOT legit, it is not a good standard to compare to.
And these comparisons are not linear, they are exponential.

Sorry Irv. She wasn't ready when the pressure was on and it really counted. It was a lousy peak timing job for a talented runner.
I am kind of curious of your coaching experience. Have you ever coached a girl with HS PR's of 2:16 and 4:56 (mile) and have her drop her times to 2:00 and 4:09 (1500M) before her senior year in college? Have you ever coached anyone to the finals at NCAA or USATF? Have you coached anyone that qualified for the Olympic Trials? I think you should be more supportive of athletes and coaches who are getting it done. Bashing coaches and athletes does nothing to help move the sport of track and field forward.
