I run a running shoe store, and I have several older models of track spikes lying around from previous seasons. Does anyone know of a place or organization which will accept track spike donations?

high school track teams. i have several kids on my team that are wearing spikes several years old from teammates who donated them when they were done with high school. some of these kids could greatly benefit from a newer, less beat up pair of spikes. if you have event specific spikes (jumps, throws) that could really help some kids out. several throwers on my team are using basketball shoes.
I agree that a donation to a High School or two would be a great thing!
That's a good idea, but the local high school here isn't exactly lacking in funding. I would like the shoes to go somewhere where there may be more need. I'm all for staying local, but I also want them to go where they will do the most help. Is there an organization for this kind of thing? For competition type shoes at least?
Where are you located?
I coach at a small school in New Jersey. South river high school. Some of my kids are running with all star converse's. I tell them to get spikes and sneakers but they can not afford. what you think?
The Hershey Track and Field program or some club track programs in an inner city. For the inner city kids, track can be the only way to making something better for themselves.
Rural programs in northern Michigan often lack proper equipment and the economy is bad there & things may be needed.
So find one. You surely can figure out the location of and drive a little to get to a poorer school district.
