Why couldn't it be Bekele? Just out of curiosity. His handlers were suspicious types back in their heyday (look at Hermens and Kostre). I'm not saying it is Bekele, lord knows what he is or isn't on, but why is he automatically dismissed? I have my idea as to whom I think is most likely, but I'll just wait to see what the end story is. No matter who they pop here, there are probably several other guys in the distance races who were doped and who will get away with it for now because their "crew" is one step ahead of the testers.
Because Bekele won TWO gold medals and the article mentions that the athlete only won ONE gold medal.
Moron.
A short list of possibilities (single gold medalist, distance event) includes Ramzi, Wanjiru, Russian racewalker and kenyan steeplechase winner. I bet it is the Russian, with a 90% chance, and there is a ~10% chance it is Ramzi.
