Hi Im a high school junior with prs of 204-800, 420-1500, 440-1600. I did about 50-60 miles a week during the winter and prior to track. I started the season feeling really strong, running my first mile on a track and running 447 and two weeks later I ran 440 (a pr) and 204 (tied pr). Its now been about 3 weeks since then and I feel slow and exhausted at practice. Our coach is an idiot and believes in short interval repeats (8x300 under 42 with 4 mins of recovery). Well do these workouts monday, tuesday, and thursday with easy runs on monday and friday. In the beginning of the season, I would run extra on my own and stay consistently around 50. Now, I feel tired and can barely do the extra mileage. Does anyone have any suggestions about feeling stronger? Core work? Tough it out? This past week I laid off the mileage a little bit but I still feel exhausted. Im hoping to break 2 and 435 for the mile by late april. Thanks
