end of story, it was so much better.
Jared Leto was a much better Prefontaine than Billy Cudrup.

I agree with you, Prefontaine is much better than Without Limits, but love both movie. I one thing I didn't like in both movies is that they didn't show Pre's sister in either movie
Both of them played Pre better than Pre himself. When Pre was alive he just didn't capture the essence of himself like those 2 fine actors did. They did more for Pre when he was dead than Pre did for himself when he was alive...burp.
Agree. Prefontaine was a better movie. Leto did a better job. Crudup's hair in Without Limits looked so fake. Even though WL had a more polished look to it and awesome racing scenes. Prefontaine captured Pre's spirit better. It was also backed by Pre's family. WL didn't even show Pre's fight to get the finns over to Eugene. Totally skipped it.
Pre had a soundtrack to purchse which is really good. Without Limits had great tunes in the movie but as far as I know never offered a soundtrack. Go Pre!
Leto's porn stache (above) was far superior to Crudup's weak little shit (below). Notice the pretty lady by his side as proof. Therefore, the OP's assertion is correct, Prefontaine is much better than Without Limits - even if only considered for the stachitude factor.
http://www.imdb.com/media/rm3889338624/ch0023659wow! No
Billy Cudrup did a far far better job capturing the essence of Pre. Without Limits is a much better movie as well.
Without limits was so much better more accurate than the lads from Warner actually made and helped by people who knew Pre like Bowerman and Kenny Moore. There was a reason why WL was supported by his friends and family.
PS Donald Sutherland so much better as William J without a doubt
and besides.. freakin Al Bundy and Gunnery Seargent Hartman were in Prefontaine. Without Limits had donald sutherland...pshhhh.
I was just waiting for the weekly Pre thread...
The woman who played his Mom sounded like she's doing a caricature of a German.

OK, so which one of you is correct?
0/10
prefontaine sucked! hmmm Al Bundy or Donald Sutherland as Bill Bowerman...I am gonna have to go with someone who wasnt a part of the Fox network...Donald Sutherland.
"Al" played Dellinger; Lee Ermey was Bowerman.
i like whichever movie had the most archive footage from Hayward, Munchen, etc.
Pre sucked. If you want to make it look like a documentary, actually interview the real people! Most of them are/were still alive when it was filmed. An actor playing Pat Tyson? I call BS.
I have to agree. Without Limits just reeked of Tom Cruise. I like Prefontaine so much better. I couldn't wait for Without Limits to end.

they both are...
pres family was involved in prefontaine while bowerman, kenny moore, and most people truly involved in pres running career backed without limits...
if you read bowerman and the men of oregon it gives a lot of background on the making of the movie and the drama that went down between the split of the two movies
from that book the implication is that pres family sort of got stuck with the prefontaine movie while most other people who really knew him had the forsight to go with without limits...which did much better and is by far the superior movie...
I agree with you totally
Another good distance runner movie is 'Running Brave'...the Billy Mills Story. The American Indian who grew up on a reservation, ended up at the University of Kansas and later won Olympic Gold in the 10k in Tokyo. An inspiring story.
a 'must have' for any distance runner's collection.
another good one, though this is a documentary, not a 'movie' is 'Jim Ryun, America's greatest distance runner'
I would love to see others done. There are many interesting and inspiring stories to be told.
Leto looks more like blonde Zac Efron than Prefontaine.
