Looking for new flats. Any one who could give some input on either of these would be greatly appreciated or even suggest a different pair. Thanks!

Streak XC: A slipper. Ultra flexible. Ultra light. I've run right through the minimal sole and right out the sides. Brilliant in their simplicity. Great if you like a barefoot feel.
Kantana 3: Equally low profile, yet more shoe. More technology with zoom air and an arch shank. More stiffness which may translate to more energy transfer. Extremely responsive. Great if you want a distance racing shoe that still protects but does not have the thicker sole/raised heel of many of the others on the market.
I've trained and raced in both. I like both but for different reasons.
I do all my training in the same shoe. Up to 100mi/wk including 21+ mi long runs.
I find that the Katana's outsole wear out much more quickly than the Streaks.
The uppers on the Streaks tend to go before the outsole. I also found on the Streaks that I had to size up 1/2 to keep the uppers from separating from the soles. They are snug like a slipper, or a climbing shoe.
I was addicted to the katanas until Nike started making them with the stiffer sole. Now I cannot run in them. Too stiff.
How does the traction compare between the two?
the "dots" on the sole of the katana wear off pretty quick if you wear them on the roads and trails. I'm probably switching to the streaks now. The Katana is a great shoe, though. Very well-designed, though I wouldn't take it any longer than 10k on the roads (although I bet I won't use the streak for longer than that on the roads either!). Just a bit too much pounding on the ball of my foot. But I used it mostly for cross country and track workouts. The katana seems a little wider on the toes, and obviously it's got the arch shank and more heel cushioning, although it does not have proportionally more forefoot cushioning.
Im getting the sense that people prefer the Streaks?
The Katanas are a little more supportive, while the streaks are more "minamalist". Depends on what you prefer. I personally prefer the Marathoners over both (sacrifice a little weight for more cushion and support).

The Katanas have better traction but wear out quickly. I don't have any trouble with the streaks, but I run mostly on the roads; paved & dirt.
