So I'm a senior in high school, and my team recently folded due to a lack of funds at the school (and we only had 5 kids max ever). I'm definitely running in college, but I'm not sure where yet. Right now, I want to train hard, but have thought of a couple of options, and want others' opinions on them. Remember, I want to be in great shape for xc next year.
Option 1: Simple aerobic base training. Build to high mileage (I've been up to 90), and do workouts there, get ready for college xc.
Option 2: Train for a half marathon. If I do that, I'm not sure whether I should just train hard and do 2 workouts a week, or follow a plan (I've been looking at the Hansons plan with added mileage, ofr follow a different one).
Option 3: Train for a marathon. Same questions as option 2.
Option 4: Any other ideas?
