What about the beijing MDs. (the white with black stripe ones) Could they be stretched to last the 12.5 laps? What do people think
It really depends on the type of runner you are. The Avanti is very similar to the Miler, a little less spring in the toe. Pretty much designed for 1500-5k.
The Cadence is an interesting spike. It has the construction and cushion of a lightweight flat, but it also have a spiked outsole. While it is more intended for the 10k, you could absolutely use it in a 5k.
In choosing between the two, it really depends on what kind of runner you are. If you tend to be very heavy footed, or are a heel-striker while racing, they you would probably want to lean towards the cadence. If you plan on doing steeplechase, or are going to have to run events shorter than the 3k occasionally, the Avanti would probabl be a better choice for you.
As far as the Beijing MD goes, you could probably stretch it up to 5k, but as the wording implies it will be a stretch (unless you're accustomed to a stiffer spike already).

No. The shoes will instantly explode at lap 8.25. No sooner, no later.
