Desiree and Melissa have been on fire. 907 and 910 for 3k last week is awesome for marathoners.
Any updates for those of us with Macs?
It's tomorrow. About 18 hours from now.
Zat0pek, are you doing the coverage today?
Yokohma Ekiden is under way. Japan's 19-year-old Kobayashi is leading, 10 minutes into the first leg (5k). Deta is struggling (too short for her).
Kobayashi is about 100m ahead of the second place, Kenyan. Kobayashi's passing 4k in 12:15.
There are 6 foreign teams, including Kenya, China, Romania, USA... I don't see Ethiopia.
Kobayashi ran 5000 in Beijing, missing the final by 0.7 second (I thought Jen Rines is the one who passed her).
300m to the end of the first leg.
US women won - Stephanie Herbst-Lucke had fastest split - followed closely by Samia Akbar.
Kobayashi finished the first leg (5k) in about 15:12. Russia second and Kenya third.
US just came in in 16:10.
Dita in about 16:30 in 13th place.
Please do tell!
Japan's Kano is still leading but Russia and Kenya are catcing up. Kano is a marathon runner and doesn't look as sharp as Kobayashi (duh).
Kano passed 2k (of 10k leg), total time of 21:45. Kenya passed Russia again.
Kenya's Mukunzi is catching up. 12 seconds behind Kano.
Kano passed 3k in 9:20 (I think is what they said...).
Heard Desiree's name... I think she's somewhere around 9th place right now.
Kano's increasing the lead; abot 19 seconds ahead of Kenya. Can't even see the Russian team (3rd).
Russian, Avitova, who was 6th in 10000 in Beijing, is almost gettin passed by 2 japanese regional teams and dropped to 5th place.
2 Japanese who are right now running side by side with Avitova are 18 and 19 years old.
Nobby! You are the best! Keep it coming!
