What are peoples opinions on these shoes? I am looking to run around 2:55, should I be considering a flat or would a lightweight shoe like the ds trainer be better?
Does the marathoner sizing run true?
Thanks.

Asics Bandito - great marathon flat
Sizing runs true. I think they're great. They're light, yet don't feel too completely minimal. So I say go for it.
I would go up a half size from what you wear in you training shoe. If I were you I might just stick a light weight shoe

Do you do "tune up" races to get ready for the marathon ? Try wearing whatever shoes you plan to wear for the marathon in these shorter races. If your feet can't take the pounding of a half-marathon, 25K, or 30K in those shoes, then you'll have your answer.
I love them. I'm 41 have wore them in two marathons, several long training runs and all the road races I do. Not one injury and light enough for my speed, or lack of it.
Just got a pair and they feel 1/2 size short to me. Great shoe!
really good shoes, i've used it for fartleks and some road races...you might wanna check out nike's new lunar line (lunatrainer and lunaracer) they seem pretty legit
For such a slow time you wouldn't possibly need anything that light.
Yes this is the advice I need! Am I too slow to consider a flat, more opinions please?
Can we talk about how crazy hard this Olympic marathon course is?
