Has anyone actually seen the Adios or the Ace in person? The look almost identical in photos and description. Also, how do both compare to the CS, which I love.

Adios is the new CS. Ace is the new version of the RC (5k/10k flat). In basic terms, there's just "more" to the Adios: more cushion, more durable upper, beefier outsole. The Adios also has a full Adiprene+ forefoot while the Ace just has a small insert.
They look somewhat similar, but once you try them on you'll understand why the Adios is a marathon shoe and the Ace is a 5k/10k shoe. It just feels more protective. If you're training in them, I'd definitely go with the Adios; it will just last longer and feel better.
I've worn all 3.
The adios has more under the foot than the other 2 and uses a bit more of a high grade cushion with full forefoot adiprene+. It also has quickstrike in the forefoot which makes it a bit more responsive without giving up some cushion. Ive run a few 10k's in this and it will also be my marathon shoe.
The Ace essentially replaces the CS. I did a few races/training sessions in the CS and for me the Ace feels very similar. Not quite as much cushioning but a bit more than what the RC was. For me i would also wear this for a marathon but ideally it would be a great 10k-1/s marathon shoe.
Cant go wrong with either but hope this helps.
in every discussion i've seen on this so far, someone says the ace replaces the CS, and someone else says the adios replaces the CS.
Are the Adios and the Ace both flat/very low-heeled OR ahve the lifted the heel?
I'll reclarify my statements...
The Ace replaces the RC (per adidas rep). However, it is a little bit more cushioned than the RC. I thought it felt like a "dying" CS. Like a CS near the end of its life. I don't think it's protective enough for a marathon or serious training, but I'm sure some will use it for that.
The Adios replaces the CS (per adidas rep). It is an "upgraded" CS. It's a little bit lighter while being more cushioned, responsive, and durable. It basically steers the CS away from training towards racing. Still a better training flat than the Ace, but it is meant for longer distances.
The two are very similar. They feel somewhat similar, but the Adios just feels more substantial.
Alright.
Actually the adios replaces the CS. CS midsole heights were 22/12mm which Haile loved. After spending time with him we realised we could go lower in the forefoot but had to keep the heel. So LT and CS merged leaving us with a 22mm heel and 11mm forefoot. The adios uses our newest adiprene + compound where we measured an incredibly low energy loss (I dont want to give any figures but it was low). So although it is lower than CS it should still feel protective and responsive while being more dynamic. In addition it has forefoot DSP (quickstrike as you call it) adiprene in the heel and a forefoot torsion bar for propulsion.
Ace is a lightweight cushion trainer. Its suited to slower training or anyone who needs a little more protection for longer runs. In fact it uses the CS tooling with a new upper.
RC will be replaced in FW09 as will Pro. Keep and eye out for them as they're look and perform great.
Hope you enjoy..
OK. I currently train in the CS. I also plan to run in either the Ace or Adios for Boston--since the CS will be shot by then. Which would make for a better replacement as trainer and racer?
If you're fast enough for Boston then adios.
Also depends on your weight and target time but id recommend the adios as a race/trainer.
Thank you for the info. I noticed the higher heel of the adios. Great feeling shoe, but too high for me. If anyone wants a 9.5, I have one (brand new) for $70.00.
I just got a pair of the Adios, and I like them much better than the CS. They're lighter, less stiff, and there are less overlays. The upper also feels better; it feels less plasticy and more like fabric. Plus they got rid of the annoying holes in the outsole.
I'm interested.

Does anybody remember the Adidas LT? That was a great shoe. . . then they discontinued them. It's almost a cliche-- find a good shoe and it's gone before you can buy the third pair.
Tell me about it...I'm still dreaming that Asics will bring back the DS Racer.
Is the Ace a slightly more cushioned version of the Adios, even though it's lighter? Thanks.
It isn't actually lighter (I own both), but the ace is certainly more cushioned.
The online weights I've seen have the Adios at 7.4 oz, and the Ace at 7.3 oz, then again "claimed" weights are unreliable at best. Thanks.
The Adios is better cushioned. Full Adiprene forefoot, much nicer cushion than in the Ace.
And to PNWrunner- Asics is bringing the DS racer back next year.
Dear Mr Adidas,
Please could you recommend a follow on shoe for the discontinued Adidas adiZERO Ace (S/S 2009 Colour) 931396
in which I ran 2:52 in my last marathon.
I am 48 years old, weigh 12 stone
(77 kg) and am 5'10'' tall.
I read that the 2010 shoe is radically diferent and no longer suitable for racing.
Please help. I desperately need to find a replacement shoe within the next month in order to prepare for the Dublin City Marathon in October.
Best regards
