Ethiopian Deriba Merga plans an assault on the race/state record of 2:10:04 this Sunday, January 18. (Richard Kaitany has held the mark since 1989). Merga finished 4th in Beijing and scored back-to-back 2:06 runs previous. He is a MAJOR coup for the race.
In November, he ran 59:16 in India for the half after Beijing.
The weather will be 50 degrees at the start climbing to 57 by races end.
The course is flat and fast with some rolling ups/down in the last 10km.
The race will be streamed live on Channel 13 beginning at 7AM CST on Sunday, January 18. Click on
