Hi, I'm a H.S. senior and was a 4:20 miler last year.
I have a question about periodization.
So I took some time off after cross and am back to training. I've been doing mileage for about 11 days and am currently at ~40 miles and will eventually get up to ~60. My coach had me do a 25 minute tempo yesterday which I felt nice and smooth on.
My coach mentioned we would do our first Vo2 max session next saturday which is typically 6-8 by 800 and at ~2 mile pace.
My question is this...Is it too early to begin doing Vo2 max sessions?
