NXN had a better field, NXN had better coverage, NXN put on a better meet.
FL is dead.
top individuals in the nation ran footlocker, especially the top 5....if you ran at NXN to avoid not winning....you are a little PUSSY!
How did you come to this conclusion?
On the girls side Footlocker had more depth. On the boys, it was probably NXN.
NXN was better! They had some guts and went after it! Top 3 were good in Foot locker, but the depth in the NXN was way better! Plus, foot locker is way to individual! Run for something greater than yourself!
nxn had way better coverage and in today's world that is most important.
Footlocker is growing stronger than ever. We have had twice the hits for our Footlocker coverage thus far and it's been only 24 hours since the races ended in San Diego.

Glad to hear it. The Nike propaganda machine has been all over this board making dire pronouncements and it's good to see some levity and some sanity prevail.
Sorry to burst your bubble. But, I would take my team to NXN over FL any time. I have been to FL each of the last 2 years and to NXN with the team this year. NXN is a better meet, Nike does a great job. The meet is much more exciting and the experience more rewarding for the kids.
The NXN course is a much better spectator course as well.
NXN all the way.
Foot Locker had the better field...
Connor Reed of The Woodlands did not even make Foot Locker.
They are both good meets. But the real test is how many of the top 40 (20 from each) will show up to tryout for the National Junior team? Hasay, and her entourage seem to get it! Running against the best in the world is where it is at! The US hasn't had an individual champion in years (apart from Drossin/Kastor as a Senior - who ran her share of World meets when she was a Junior), and it's no wonder since few get any international experience when able (before College scholarships get in the way). In some other countries (like Canada) I hear athletes have to pay their own way to the meet, not so in the US, so why aren't there more (the best)athletes lining up to make the US team - the fields should be huge given the number of HS (and College) athletes who are supposedly serious about the sport.
I was at both, and the Footlocker PR people are true professionals, they know what the media wants, even us little media guys. No wonder, they and Kinney been doing that race since before I was born. They made sure I had videos and interviews of Haile and the Stanford girl. They asked me several times if I needed anything. No, I'm not special at all. The Footlocker PR people asked all of the media, from the running websites, to the local TV station, to the old greasy-looking-war-torn Associated Press guys. In contrast, the Nike PR people were rude. They didn't let us take videos from the left side as you face the finish line from the rear even though is was nearly empty and had no effect on the finish. I have been a runner and a volunteer at dozens of cross country and track meets so I know what goes on.
Nike Cross Country National Girls Champion, Sviesson, placed 4th at Foot Locker Nationals.

He didn't run at regionals
Compare the speed ratings, the depth was very similar for both the boys and girls.
Foot Locker may have had the better fields this year, but it wasn't by much on the boys side. Foot Locker's been at this for 30 years. This was NXN's first year doing individuals and they nearly came out on top on the boys side and the girls race was still fairly good.
To the guy that mentioned that Foot Locker's people did PR better...yeah, only on the day of the meet. They are horrible at actually promoting their regional races and the only reason anyone nationally cared about FL this year was because of their three girl champions clash. Next year they are really going to be hurting. I've been to both meets as well and NXN is organized and presented in a much finer manner.
Foot Locker isn't going anywhere. They'll be around for a while longer. However, this year I feel the meet took a step back. Not only did they lose horribly with the online video, but the uniforms looked like something a 240 lb. 5k weekend warrior would wear. Adults may not think any of this matters, but kids care.
FL needs to add team events.
NXN needs to move out of PDX, to LAX, SAN, SNA, PHX, DFW, or MCO.
Both FL and NXN needs to let girls wear tight outfits and improve the boys uniforms.
