it seems to me that most of the leaders in NYC marathon are midfoot strikers, is that one of the keys to speed (faster cadence)?

Back in 2002 I was taught that the most efficient footstrike is forefoot only, and that Geb was the only one who did that for 10k. Midfoot or forefoot rolling back to the heel before pushing off is the next most efficient, and heelstriking is the worst.
