I'm a middle distance runner in track, I run the 800 and I've run 1:58. What should this convert to in an 8k for me in cross if I'm doing 65 miles a week?

well.....800 with a shift to the left becomes 8000
so, 1:58 with a shift to the left is 15:80
so therefore my guess is 16:20
middies can't run xc, they are too soft
so in other words you will run a DNF every race guaranteed
Oh you're a genius aren't you, moving that decimal point over. So you basically said he can keep up the pace he does for 2 laps on a track, to an 8,000 meter race.

Please consult your middle school pre-algebra teacher before posting anything math related again. Thank you.

Pretty sure that was a joke. Lighten the f*** up, dummy.
yeah....besides the fact that running distances is more exponentially related to time than linearly, there is no decimal point in a time, as it is a base 60 system....so moving the decimal point means nothing.....and my initial answer came out with 80 seconds......which is quite a few more than the 60 that occur in most minutes
