I ran a 16:30 5K PR 7 weeks ago and a 34:49 10K PR 5 weeks ago. I've got a 5K in 10 days that I'm hoping to run faster than 16:30.
3 weeks ago I did a 5 x 1000 in 3:13, 3:12, 3:13, 3:13, 3:11, with 90 seconds jogging recovery.
2 weeks ago I did 3 x 1 mile in 5:10, 5:11, 5:06 with 3 minutes recovery (400M jog).
Questions...what should I do today? And what should I shoot for at my race?
I'm thinking 4 x mile at 5:10 average with 3 minutes recovery (if I can) or 5 x 1200 at same pace with 2 minutes recovery.
For the race, I'm dreaming of 16 minutes, but not sure it is in the cards just yet. I would like to hit 2 miles at 10:20 and see what happens.
