It's that kind of melodramatic shit (amongst many other things) that keeps people from taking the artists you listed seriously. You could argue that many music types are better than the rest in different ways, but you'd struggle pretty hard to make an argument for angsty pop-punk targeted at emotionally distraught 15 year olds.
Oh, and to actually contribute something to the thread, My Morning Jacket's One Big Holiday can get me pretty pumped.
