What is your opinion on taking down weeks during the XC season. Are they necessary? Is two to three up, one down a good plan to follow- like 70, 70, 60, 70, 70, 60, etc.? I know specifics aren't too important.

3 up, 1 down. eg 70, 70, 70, 60.... I think that is the most used/accepted. I know first hand that multiple top D1 schools use that cycle.
