Hi I need some wise advice,
I am runnin hs xc and i run between 55-60 miles a week.
i have found that I cannot do endurance runs (8-10 miles) or strenth workouts (tempo runs, fartleks)nearly as well in the afternoon compared to the morning. The reasons are that I feel very tight in the upper body and I feel like my legs are big and sluggish.
I can however complete other workouts like 6x800 or 5x1000 or even repeat 400's very effectively at any time of the day.
I am very frustrated and I need some advice becuz i need to hit every type of workout w/ high quality.
And I do warm up well before running w/ 1-2 mile warm up and dynamic drills.
When i say afternoon i mean about 3:30 pm.
